teaching artist
As a teaching artist, my work has taken me across the country, from directing and choreographing youth productions to leading workshops alongside Broadway professionals. With a background in directing, choreography and arts education, I have developed theatre and dance curricula that challenge and inspire students at all levels.
In 2024, I founded Myah’s Musical Theatre Camps, providing accessible training for young performers through a cabaret I directed, choreographed, and music directed. Through my work with Myah’s Musical Theatre Camps, The Muny, Gulfshore Playhouse, teaching various workshops in Chicagoland, I still have taught and mentored students ages 6 to 18, focusing on technique, storytelling, and confidence to help them grow as both artists and individuals.
the muny
In Summer 2026, I served as a Summer Education Intern at The Muny, North America’s oldest and largest outdoor theatre and the 2025 Regional Theatre Tony Award winner.
As a Summer Education Intern, I served as a Principal Youth Coordinator for Shrek and a Kids Ensemble Youth Coordinator for Disney’s Newsies and Something Rotten!. In these roles, I collaborated with production creatives to effectively supervise and support youth performers throughout the rehearsal and production processes.
Outside of rehearsals, my work focused on education-related administrative responsibilities, including supporting performances for the Muny Kids Troupe and Muny Teens Troupe, assisting with fall season preparation, materials inventory and organization, and more.
I also had the opportunity to collaborate with other departments across The Muny, particularly Events and Marketing, where I had the pleasure of assisting with social media content creation and special events, including the inaugural Muny Young Friends Ain’t Too Proud to Dance fundraiser.
gulshore playhouse
In Summer 2025, I served as a Summer Education Assistant at Gulfshore Playhouse, a nationally recognized Equity theatre in Naples, Florida. I helped plan and lead a variety of musical theatre and creative drama week long camps for students ages 5–18, supporting everything from daily instruction to our culminating weekly showcases for each camp. I also helped to facilitate workshops for students on field trips to the Gulfshore Playhouse from local schools and the YMCA.
While at Gulfshore Playhouse, I also had the incredible opportunity to assist eight time Broadway artist Vasthy Mompoint on The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, contributing to choreography development, staging, and student coaching throughout the Summer Conservatory production process.
myah's musical theatre camps
I developed the concept for Myah's Musical Theatre Camps in the winter of 2024 after hearing from parents of kids I had worked with about challenges like high costs and overcrowded classes at other camps. I wanted to create a space where kids could explore their creativity and develop their musical theatre skills in an affordable and supportive environment.
In the summer of 2024 and again in 2025, I had the opportunity to bring this dream to life and work with students from 2nd to 8th grade. Each age group had a week-long camp focused on musical theatre performance, with an additional emphasis on musical theatre history for the older students. The camps provided a fun, low-pressure setting where students could grow in singing, dancing, and acting, while also building confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Their experience culminated in a cabaret, which I choreographed, directed, and music directed. The focus was on creating an experience that was both educational and enjoyable, leaving students (and myself!) with valuable skills and lasting memories.
